Student Residence

Dartmouth is a residential college. When a student's enrollment pattern (D-Plan) denotes that they are in residence (R), they are expected to be taking classes in-person and on-campus for the term. During the first year, students who are not married, in a college-recognized domestic partnership, or defined as independent are required to live on campus. On-Campus housing is neither required nor guaranteed after the first year. However, all remaining registered undergraduates who are not married, in a college-recognized domestic partnership, or independent may live in College undergraduate housing or in a College-recognized coed/fraternity, sorority, or undergraduate society house if space is available. Students living off campus during a residence (R) term must file a local address as part of their online check-in process. Enrolled Dartmouth students may not live in coed, fraternity, sorority, or undergraduate society houses that are not recognized by the College.

NOTE.: For complete information regarding residence life and appropriate regulations, consult the Student Handbook, the Office of Residential Life publication Welcome Home, or the web site http://www.Dartmouth.edu/~orl.
